Worms Make Great Compost

Not many people are aware that worms make great compost. Some people obviously refuse to partake in this type of composting because of its squeamish characteristics. If you can get past that, you will be in store for some relatively easy composting. It is an affordable way to compost and it can be done both indoors and outdoors. Just make sure you keep the bin covered. Make sure it has air holes in the top and sides as well.

Just let the worms eat your scraps and in a matter of a couple of months, you will have compost. The worms that work the best are brown nose worms or red worms. Night crawlers are not particularly good for composting. Just add your organic waste to the bin and let the worms do the rest. You will need bedding for the worms as well. Placing newspaper in the bottom of the container will work out well.

In fact, the worms will eat the bedding too. You can also add some leaves as well. When your container is outside you can add some cow manure to it. The red worms love manure. Do not add meat or dairy products to your bin as these tend to rot and attract animals. Make sure your bin is lined with something like nylon so they do not escape out the air holes. It should be well ventilated and make sure that you keep it moist.

Worms can dry out if it is not kept moist. When the container is full just scoop out the finished product. Shine a light on it make the worms burrow down further. As you can see, worms make great compost. You can just repeat this process repeatedly and you will have a good supply of compost for your garden.
