However, for people that do compost, they have their top reasons for composting. Some people would prefer to buy fertilizers and mulch for their gardens. All it takes is a little bit of research and then follow the basic instructions. There are several top reasons for composting. What are yours? One of the best reasons for composting is that the materials are free. You simply recycle organic materials found in your kitchen or your yard. Your finished product is fertilizer for your garden, which is much cheaper and better for the environment that commercial fertilizer.

Another of the top reasons for composting is that it provides natural minerals and nutrients that are needed by your garden. It is free and good for the garden. Compost also improves the overall soil structure of your garden. It helps the soil become more resistant to erosion and improves its overall retention of water. It also makes the soil easier to till, which conserves time and energy.

Composting makes your soil richer and should make your produce grow better as well. Using carbon mixed with soil will build soil carbon, which could reduce the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Studies have even shown that compost can suppress the growth of disease in crops as well. Compost can also work as a balance for soil acidity, which balances out the toxicity caused by chemical fertilizers.
